An introduction!
First off, welcome to Drawing by night!
My name is Shadi Mallak.
Professionally, I’m a 27 year old Concept Artist / UX designer from Montreal. I’ve been doing everything from graphic design for print and multimedia to user experience design more recently, without mentioning storyboarding, commissioned portraits, animation, you name it!
I’m also a happy family man, as both a lucky husband and even luckier step-father.
This leaves me to work on my own projects in the little spare time that’s left. Hence, I’ve been drawing by night for the last couple of years.
Recently, I’ve finished the first issue of a comic book mini-series with friend and Writer Marc-André Legault, that we will start showing around soon!
Over the last year, as friends and various people have seen my work, I’ve shared tips and techniques, gotten loads of useful feedback, and a fair share of interest and requests for more material and information. Having people read our first issue and getting to see their reactions and get their feedback has been a thrill, and I realized I want to be able to engage like this with people every day!
This is where this site comes in!
I have plenty of ideas I want to let you in on, so I’ll be striving to keep this site interesting with plenty of short-stories and strips!
